Hats of to Smitty. Much as that hurts.

You know that I hate to give credit to anyone, even when credit is due -- but I have to give props to Smitty. He told us that Pods was ready to play. He suggested the Cubs should go get this guy on the cheap. The Rockies did, and read this:

Meanwhile, we consider Coco Crisp or Marlon Byrd? Yikes. And Pods would have cost money, but no players. Way to go, Smitty. Even a blind squirrel stumbles into an acorn every now and again.
