Not much to rant about

Everything went pretty nicely yesterday -- it's always great to win both games of a double header.

Minor beefs:

The Beer league co-ed softball Padres rolling over for the Brewers. Why can't anyone hit Sabathia?

Rain cost us the "perfect" rotation. Marshall will now start Sunday, which is fine...but is Harden really that fragile? 5 and a third innings every fourth day. No variation?

I'm surprised Fontenot isn't getting more at bats. He's being sacrificed here for Fukudome. I'd like to see a little less Kosuke and a little more Fontenot for a while -- at least until KKKKKKosuke remembers how to hit. Yes, he did hit a soft liner in game two for a couple of runs. Congratulations. All of Japan can now rest.

Anybody see that Hoffpauir had a four homer game the other day? We need to get him in the line up, too. Can he play right field?

Let's finish off the Braves today. Need another good outing from Lilly...and then move on to take care of business v the Marlins. Go Cubs.

So...top three blog, eh? Which is better? the Jim Essian or this one? Which do you read first? That's what I want to know. Smitty didn't make the list? He updates his once a month, whether it needs it or not. Coming soon from Smitty -- "Cubs get Rich Harden from the A's"

Although he only writes what used to be his daily dose about weekly, Andy Dolan on Desipio is definitely the clear winner. No offense. Hirejim essian has its moments...a more diverse commentary, and the Sweet Lou weekly roundup. I go to Desipio first, HJE 2nd, and Shermrants 3rd, but that could be because my favorites are alphabetical. I don't even swing by smitty anymore. Did he die? Or did he find some cougar while travelling in Ottumwa, Iowa? He's probably holed up in some Motel 6 or Good Nite in working his way through a carton of recreational sex drugs. I got some blue diamonds as a gag birthday gift (which is, incidentally, officially today) that I don't (yet) need Smitty. Give me the hotel anme and I'll send 'em along.

I'm glad you only had minor beefs today. You must have missed Alf turning that double into a single, posing away. The guy is my new Edmonds. He is physically gifted, but an absolute baseball moron. Hasselhoffpauir will be up in September. I think he's out of options. Kosuke will be fine....soft liners are how you break out of slumps. Well, soft liners and Best Westerns in rural Iowa.

Okay. I read those other sites, and wholeheartedly agree. Funny shit on the interview with Theriot. I'm happy with the Bronze.

Mine is better than Smitty's, and really, that's all that counts.

Mine could be better than the other two as well, if I wanted it to be and if I spent more time with it, but I don't care that much.

I did mention the Soriano thing in a comment yesterday. Props to Brenley for calling him out.

Edmonds spelled sideways is "woof"

Happy Birthday. May the Cubs win for you. And may Jake Peavy and the acolytes win a game today, too.

Happy Birthday to MOJO, and most of they guys who ask me for boner pills say they don't really need it. .....My stock advice.... If you get a woody at a pole dance exhibition, it's not the equipment, it's the familiarity that breeds the lack of equipment cooperation.

Come on, really? Smitty has a blog?

Alf deserved to be thrown at, but not the head.

Some one CAN hit the fat tub of goo... we did. unfortunately we are one of the few who actually field a team of baseball players, not fresh from the farm sheep fuckers. Come on we have standards.

I was surprised to see most of the line up unchanged in both ends of the twin bill.

I will check out the other blogs, I am always on the look out for a cunning linguist.

The Ramirez injury...a hip contusion from sliding into home. Can't figure out how you bruise a hip sliding...must have learned the technique at fantasy camp...from Mark Decarlo. I suppose Smitty could have taught him how to fall and bruise it.

No post today as I didn't bring laptop. Hope Aram is okay. Thx be to Peavy. Lilly is the pitcher in whom I have the least confidence. More at a later date. Or, as Smitty would say "update soon"

Fukudome needs to start driving the ball, he is just making contact for co ed line drives and they are playing him there. He needs to see the back of a few OF jerseys. How? He needs to keep his front hip and shoulder in longer, maybe even start it a bit more closed and then rotate it open with power. He may K more often but he will back the OF up. Or he could bunt with 2 strikes, that might get him on base. Until then, play Fonetenot and Reed Johnson- everytime RJ starts he has a multihit game.

I've stopped hating him, but this is too much. A .243 cleanup hitter?

I am a record for Shermrants, even though Doc Rav padded the stats.
