Finally!

Cubs win. Cubs win.

Barely. Why didn't Lilly get to finish that game? He had thrown only 90 pitches. Wood almost blew it. Just wondering. Is Lou using the Dusty Baker book of "Gotta use the closer, no matter what?"

Speaking of Dusty -- damn them for not sweeping the Brewers.

Pie played well. On base three times. Good to see. Start him again today.

Lots of LOBs for Lee and Theriot yesterday. Theriot is a table setter...Lee's job is to knock in runs.

Re: Hoffpauir. Was that it? Two games? Didn't go 6 for 8, so back to Fukudome? Will he ever get to play first base? I want to see this guy play. I want him to get 30 at bats over the next two weeks to see what happens. Come on, Lou.

Ted Lilly was terrific yesterday. The key was the two inning game last week. Maybe he needed the rest.

Time to go on a win streak. Come on, Rich Harden -- give us a great game today and keep it going.

best to cb

How about Lilly taking a run at Yadier...then sticking his arm out later when Looper tried to throw at him for it. Awesome. We need more of this bulldog mentality.

On an unrealated note...Ohio State 23 USC 21 on Saturday. Book it.

Edmonds would love to have bulldogs in the clubhouse.

On a now related note -- USC 41 -- OSU 16

Lilly is a tough guy.
I saw him in Spring training this year, no smiles, no idle chatter, just a large chip on his shoulder. It's OK if it works for him...nice touch on the Molina of the day. and good work on the mound.
Fuko did get on base 3 times I think (2 walks), and Hoffpauir didn't overwhelm, so, yes Fuko starts again.
On a sour note The reason I dislike listening to Colon Coweird on ESPN radio is that he starts talking college football in May. So I've decided to ignore college football (unless Notre Dame gets good again). Only the most foggy eyed loyalist gives Ohio State a chance.

Your readership will be cut by some measurable number for the next week and a half. Cozumel awaits, I doubt I will have Internet access and will not likely see any ball games either, through when there about 20 years ago I did see WGN on a local residents TV while walking down the semi-paved streets (true). Flying thru DFW fortunately as Houston is getting dicey. I wonder where the astro series will be played.

Keep us in first, and Dave, keep the good thoughts.
