Reunion

Not Reunited, so back down on Peaches and Herb.

First of all, I think it's a brilliant idea to have Shermrants Day at the ballpark. Not to be overly nitpicky of Southsider's great idea, but...it can't be a First Annual Event. The first one is the inaugural event. Subsequent events can be second annual, third annual, and so on.

Second, I am compelled to answer the comment re: a SmittyBlog Day. And the answer is:

Smitty has a blog?

More later.

And yeah, I am overly picky. I know.

I use "first annual" when I need to inform people that there would be another event occuring next year under the same construct. If I said "first" alone many might assume it would be first and only yet my goal is to get them to understand that it is and would be the first of many. J Salzeider

Did anyone see the show about MLB ballparks on MLB network? I saw Petco and PNC in Pitt. I have been to Petco and like it, very Wrigleyville they way it is situated in the Gas Lamp district, I dig it. PNC looks nice, never been to Pittsburgh- would like to go although it rains a lot, that is why it is the rust belt, rain + steel = rust.

Maybe we can meet for Cubs Padres at Petco?

Glad to see that Sherm did not fall into a vat of Fondue in Fon Du Lac.

SD in mid May, Denver in mid August or SF in late September.
All nice ballparks, that I have been to.
SD has an expensive, but convenient hotel physically attached to the ball park by a sky walk. I stayed there one year when the rates were reasonable.

Denver has several hotels within walking distance, the park is a long way from the airport.

SF also has several hotels in walking distance, decent park, but not as neato as the other 2.

I'd probably be up for any of them, I will likely be going to Denver anyway, but have not made firm plans.

Is a first reunion a union?

I did drive past the Fondue capital. Wisconsin is an interesting state. The freeway offramps have peculiar fare, to say the least. Seems like every third one is either a Cheese retailer (House of Cheese, Cheese Castle, etc.) a porn video shop, or a Cracker Barrel. Something for everyone I suppose.

Looking back, perhaps House of Cheese was also a porn video shop.

Had a rental car with Minnesota plates and got pulled over by Wisconsin Hwy Patrol who apparently hate Viking fans a lot. Explained that I was from the part of America that doesn't have a pro football team. Didn't mention the Bears. Didn't show the Cub tattoo. Made an Al Franken joke (if THAT'S not the oxymoron of all time) and we both had a good laugh at the expense of the Minnesotans. Got off with a warning and a coupon for a wheel of cheese at the Cheese Palace.

Oh. And I'd like to go to a game somewhere also.

Perhaps we can do a San Diego/LA two games in two days at two parks in August?

Denver is okay with me, too, depending on the dates and what else I have going on.

Or we could go to a game at Miller Park. I'll bring cheese.

Denver...sounds good.

Especially if my bud Scott Podesednik makes the squad this year.

If smitty has a friend at the ball park I'm out, can't take a litany of M-fer's if the dude gets caught out of position on the first pitch and the ball goes over his head. does San Diego have good strip j's because Milwaukee's are lacking? Not that it's important but I've seen your guys game and I know where we'll be heading. JUST KIDDING

Strip joints in Milwaukee are great if you like fat girls in multiple layers of clothing. Lap dance I had there once felt like I was in a department store earthquake.

Plus, they smell like cheese.

Looks like the Cubs may be leaving Mesa....Say it isn't so!

Smitty's blog has the latest in news..no speculating on Smitty's Blog.

Dudes, what else is there? Wisconsin has it all baby. I mightbe down for an LA, or SD ballpark day. The tree huggers in Denver or SF have no shot at getting a dime of my money.

How about if the dude get's picked off after getting on with a hit because he is standing there admiring his hit, stay after that.

Cheese brats and beer, that ain't a diet for foxy figures.

Denver could be cool, Petco for sure. Dodger stadium I abhore and there low life cholo fans.

I just posted a comment on Smitty's blog, had to advertise otherwise who would know.

Right. Because there are no tree huggers in LA. Right.

I'm all for Colorado. Cubs are there 8/7,8/8,8/9. Of course it's sherms blog so he would have final say, but if I may add, higher altitude/less liquor, maybe also, nope .... that's about all I have, sorry! J Salzeider
