Familiarity

Something familiar about Dusty Baker losing games at Wrigley.

Something familiar about Pie's line tonight. 0 - 4 with 3 K's and 4 LOB. Nice. I hope he wasn't watching another familiar face -- Corey "First Felix" Patterson going 0 - 4 for the Reds. Corey only whiffed once, because he's getting better.

Dempster 2 - 0. Ha. I never would have figured that. But to his credit, I hear that he worked his ass off during the off season to get ready. There's a novel approach. Hard working athletes. Don't they have shots for that?

Speaking of novels, anyone finish Shike yet? I am so ready to make another recommendation. Next one is as good.

Soriano strained his calf? How? Oh well, Fontenot led off and we got the win. DeRosa did fine, and hit great. I'm liking this Reed Johnson more and more, too. Nice pinch hit from him. So if Sori is out for a while...do we bring Murton up? Or let Johnson play left and leave Pie in center?
Just wondering. I'd go with Murton. He's got to be burning to play.

I didn't see the game, but it read great after the fact. Nice to see DLee off to a good start. Let's sweep the Reds.

Go Cubs.

Go Jebu.

Did he have warm hands?

Re: Soriano. I just watched him injure his calf, and see that it was during that idiotic little hop of his when he catches the ball. Nice.

Note: Stop reading now if you are easily offended.

Isn't it about goddamn time for Lou to stop pussyfooting around certain star players, and expect them to prepare and play like the multi-freaking millionairre superstars they are supposed to be? Shouldn't Soriano expect to HAVE to get through a stretching regimen pregame, take a pitch or two if he is to lead off, and maybe swing a bat that is more commensurate with his frame rather than that Fred Flintstone looking club he swings currently? It's as bad as Z being able to swill coffee and Dr. Pepper between innings last season, then cramping up in the 5th inning regularly, then heading off Gene and Georgetti for a 3 lb. rib-eye and loaded baked potato. As much as we all know that these ballplayers aren't worth half what they are paid, it is getting even more infuriating that it seems today's coaches and managers are afraid to actually coach them, for fear of not being considered a "players" guy. YOU CATCH A FLY BALL WITH AT LEAST ONE FOOT ON THE GROUND, or you will risk dropping easy balls or injuring yourself....BOTH of which have now happened to the $15 million genius jackoff .170 hitting leadoff hitter. Enough is enough with this guy.

enjoy your day.
