New Opportunity?

I may have an opportunity to take this blog "larger" by contributing to another Cub blog. I am considering it. I could have put in a silly little vote box, but considered that "too Smitty."

Pros and Cons.

Pro -- more readers. Expands our world and hopefully means more commentary

Con -- less "personal wisecracking" like "too Smitty" because the bigger world has no idea who Smitty is.

Pro -- I'll be 1.14% more famous than I am now

Con -- Still not famous enough for my own "posse."

Pro -- I'll never have to work again

Con -- oh, yes, you will

Pro -- No, I won't

Con -- Yes, you will

Pro -- I'll be taken seriously as the dedicated and professional journalist that I really am; and undoubtedly get offered free tickets to all kinds of sporting events.

Con -- No, you won't.

Anyway, feel free to weigh in and let me know your thoughts.

1 can you do both?
2 is the other blog something we would enjoy (humor, profanity, timeliness)

I'm all for expanding our universe if it fits.
Give us the address so we can check it out.

By the way... Hoffpauir Grand Slam today. Cubs undefeated after one preseason game.

Some very important things to note about today's game.

DLee did not ground into a double play. The oddsmakers in Las Vegas are pissed.

Micah Hoffpauir is the greatest 37 year old young hitter ever. Just kidding. He's only 29 or 30.

Sam Fuld. O for 2, but he did it with flair.

New Bloggertunity is: www.viewfromthebleachers.com

Check it out one time, won't you?

I feel that you are too mega-talented to toil away for the entertainment of 6 readers. You are also better than all the Smitty references, but they are still sometimes funny. Truth be told, though not in the top 3, VFTB probably squeaks in the top 5 of Cub blogs. A bi-weekly shermrant easily makes it 4. Aiello takes himself a little too seriously, but all Cub fans sometimes do. My hope is that you move up to Desipio or HJE by the all-star break for more money. Maybe you and Smitty can come in as a team, and Smitty can concoct a confusing string of pictures and foolishness about once every other month.

"Say it isn't so, Joe" replied a young John Salzeider as he stood in the presence of his blogger idol John Sherman .

Can you do both? Post the rant in both places.

Would you get paid?

I just wouldn't want to wade through post from 80 other jagoffs to get to the ones that matter. Lot's of mindless comments outside of Shermrants. "Will Pinella move to Chicago in the offseason?" "Why don't they play Soriano at short stop?" "Are the Cubs planning on having a Jack Brickhouse day?"

Only if you get paid, have faith, they will come to you.

Alyssa Milano has written a book about all the ball players she has dated entitled, "Slut and the Diamonds". Doc Ravage must have forgotten to mention the real fantasy in this years camp like Milano searching for Smitty for her chapter on fantasy campers. Milano was quoted at camp, "big leaguers give big gifts so bring it on campers"

Milano did go out with Smitty at camp and she dedicated a chapter to him. It's titled "The Innie"

And no, she wasn't talking about his navel.

Interesting that A. Milano's name should come up here. I saw Embrace of the Vampire a couple of weeks ago, she regretted the large amount of her skin that was displayed, I had no such regrets. We did have a girl on our team this year, she would not be mistaken for alyssa

I have checked out VFTB a couple of times, I like the links, but his blogs are dry and the comments arid. If all you have to say in a comment is "yup, I agree", why bother. I saw no profanity, which I would sorely miss, and had no insight into the character of the commentators.
I think would miss what we have here, but would be OK with being proven wrong.

yeah...come to think of it, one of VFTB's rules is no profanity. Fuck them.
