Okay, so Marmol is human after all. At least it didn't cost us the game. Wood saved it, like he is supposed to do in those situations.
Hey, wasn't that Jim Edmonds with 2 more doubles and 2 more rbi's? Couldn't tell from here. Could it be that he was a great pickup? Hmmm?
This just in. Carlos Zambrano can hit. Maybe he should bat higher than 9th.
Just a thought, but if you are the Red Sox, and you just found out that David Ortiz is out indefinitely with a wrist injury -- would you consider signing Barry Bonds as your DH until he returns?
DeRosa needs a day off. Play Cedeno at 2b tonight.
Go Cubs. Let's make it 9. Time to score some runs for Marquis. He's been good enough to win a few games and has gotten no decisions...

2 doubles should raise pond scum up to clean pond water, clear mountain stream next on the list. Good labor, cheap, agree, nice pickup. The Centerfielder of the present appears to have had a rather sordid background, but is here to help us. Kind of like having Ted Bundy on your team in a scavenger hunt, you may not like his background, but have to appreciate the ability.
I really was pissed when Steve Stone left, but am liking Brenly a lot lately. In the first inning he mentioned a lazy fly ball (that later scored) should have been caught (guess who). After Edmonds 2nd double he pointed out that the Padres were paying millions for him to be a Cub. (Pie now batting .178 and climbing).
Good Kerry did not hit the first batter to face him, Bad Kerry gave up a shot to his former battery mate that landed on the track in R Johnson's glove. Thank Lou for the double switch.
I know Carlos can hit, but hard to justify moving him up as everyone in the line up deserves to be batting at least 6th.
