First things first. Happy Birthday to Mark DeCarlo.
And happy anniversary -- it was 24 years ago today that Ryne Sandberg homered not once, but twice off Bruce Sutter...in the 9th and 10th innings of a game to beat the dastardly Cards. Ah, what a sweet memory!
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming. Nice weekend. Only thing better than a sweep is a sweep of the White Sox or Cardinals, right? That was sweet.
Who's that awesome centerfielder we have? Two dingers in an inning? Third Cub in history to do that.

Like the way little Patterson played this weekend. Showed some fire.
I wouldn't have pulled Fontenot in an inning where he'd already homered. That seemed wrong.
So what are we? 6 and 4 without Soriano? Not bad. Zambrano will miss two starts, including one vs the Cardinals. Hopefully the rest of the staff will keep pitching well.
There is an electricity in Wrigley this year...they need to keep that flowing all year, and it might be, it could be, it is -- OUR YEAR.

I didn't realize that Patterson was so much faster than his brother. He might not suck. Let's hope Dempster's deal with Lucifer stays solid, and Hendry makes the pitcher deal (Harden or Sabathia...Sabathia I like more because he can HIT...did you check that bomb he dropped on the Dodgers Saturday?). Mark Decarlo turned a yeal older today? It'll make that 12 foot walk from the softball first base dugout to first base that much longer.
Taste of America now has to hire someone to chew his food for him. Sad, really. They should change the name to Taste of America and Bruce's Saliva.
I like Sabathia because he weighs 600 pounds and can throw 500 innings a year. (You are the brute squad!)

You have no idea how close Kendall and Courtney came to being Grace (Mark) and Sandy (as in Sandberg) Buss. As with so many other things in my life of late, my wife said no to those names, and chose not to dig in and cause myself further delay in what has been a llllllllloooooooonnnnnnnggggg sexual slump.
